There, you can grab a bite to eat at the Little A’le’Inn, then see the infamous Black Mailbox. Visit the so-called Janet Airlines at McCarran International Airport and travel along the Extraterrestrial Highway to Rachel, NV. You have to descend down a semi-steep hill to see the waterfall pictured above. Why I love it: I don’t know if this is truly classified as a “waterfall” but this area is one of my favorite places to visit. It really is surreal.ĥ.) No Name Waterfall, Euclid Creek Reservation You’ll want to bring a hammock and set up camp here for a while to just relax and listen. then you peak around a canopy of trees and tucked away is this beautiful, two-tiered waterfall. One minute you’re walking along the creek and all of the sudden you hear raging water. What I love about this waterfall is that it appears out of nowhere. ![]() This area is unique because it’s public land you can just wander around on your own. You’ll come to learn that I love areas where there are no trails. Why I love it: First off, it’s in the wilderness. There’s minimal climbing involved and you are almost guaranteed to spend at this waterfall alone.Ĥ.) No Name Waterfall, Hell Hollow Wilderness I was so intrigued! The area is very quiet and the waterfall is unexpected. Call me crazy, but this alone was enough of a reason for me to go see it. Why I love it: This waterfall is located in a cemetery. It is one of the most unique ones I’ve seen.ģ.) Crown Hill Falls, Crown Hill Cemetary This waterfall is isolated, and is truly contoured. The last time I went I had to take off my shoes and trek through a pretty deep portion of a creek. Contour Falls is a little trickier to find and harder to get to. Why I love it: This waterfall is nearby several others in Brecksville Reservation, including the more well-known Twin Sister Falls. Plus, there’s an amazing little cave!Ģ.) Contour Falls, Cuyahoga Valley National Park I also love how many vantage points of the falls there are. However, every time I’ve visited there has hardly been anyone there. Why I love it: So technically, this waterfall is not hidden. I’m sharing with you my five favorite falls within driving distant from my house.ġ.) West Falls of Black River, Cascade Park The ones that are so breathtaking and peaceful you have a hard time describing your experience to another person. Most of them are well known and easy to get to. Luckily for me (and you!) there are so many great waterfalls in Ohio. If you know me at all, you know my favorite thing to photograph is waterfalls.
